Affiliate disclosure

The short version: some links here earn us a commission, you pay the same either way, nobody pays to be featured, and the cellar doors themselves are open to anyone who brings a driver, whether you ever book a tour or not.

Which links are affiliate links

Every "Check availability" button, and every in-text link that opens a listing, points to GetYourGuide or Viator and carries our partner tag. Four of the ten tours are sold on GetYourGuide, six on Viator. If you book after clicking one, the platform pays us a share of the commission it already earns from the operator. Your price is identical to the price you would see going straight to that listing, because our cut comes out of the platform's margin and is never added to your ticket.

Those two platforms are the only affiliate relationships on this site. There is no display advertising, no sponsored posts and no paid reviews. If a third network is ever added, this page and the footer disclosure will name it before the first link goes live, not after.

The parts of a Margaret River day that pay us nothing

Worth saying plainly, because for some travellers they are the better answer. If someone in your party will happily stay on water for the day, you can self-drive the region and visit cellar doors directly, and nothing about that earns us a cent. The tastings you pay for at the door, usually A$10 to A$20 for a standard flight and commonly waived if you buy a bottle, go straight to the winery. So does a table you book yourself at a winery restaurant, a hire car, the beaches down the coast, and the walks through the karri and jarrah forest. The one part of your day we can earn on is a guided tour with the driving handled, and where self-driving with a sober driver is the better call, the guides say so.

Even within the tours, we lead with the sensible end rather than the dear one. The four listings that publish a verified Australian-dollar price run from A$129 to A$261 per person, and the lineup opens with the everyday full-day tours near the bottom of that range, not the premium small-group day at the top. The six listings that show no confirmed price until you open them say exactly that on the card rather than being padded with a number we could not stand behind.

What it does not change

Ratings, review counts and prices

Every rating and review count on this site is the platform's own published number at the time we checked it, read off the live listing and then confirmed a second time on an independent pass before it was printed. Nothing is averaged across platforms, rounded up or invented, and where the two checks disagreed the figure was left off the page rather than smoothed over. The ten run 5.0 across 55 reviews, 4.8 across 263, 4.9 across 410, 5.0 across 7, 4.9 across 340, 4.9 across 107, 5.0 across 925, 4.6 across 490, 4.9 across 95 and 4.4 across 72.

Prices work the same way and come with a bigger caveat. What you see is a current from-price, the cheapest option on that listing when it was read, and only four of the ten publish one we could verify in Australian dollars: A$133, A$261, A$129 and A$164 per person. What you actually pay moves with the date, the option you pick, the group size and the country you book from, so the live listing is always the authority. The remaining six did not return a confirmed Australian-dollar figure on two passes, so their cards send you to the listing rather than carrying a number we could not stand behind. A price that reads differently in two places usually means the platform is showing you a localised currency, not that the operator has put its fee up.

If you would rather not use our links

Search the operator's name on GetYourGuide or Viator directly, or find the operator's own website and book there. Harvest Tours Margaret River, Cheers Wine & Scenic Tours, Tannin Road Wine Tours, Waves of Wine, All About Margaret River, Margies Big Day Out Beer & Wine Tours and Tour2Holiday run the tours listed here, and each one is named on its card. We would genuinely rather you got out among the cellar doors on whichever tour suits you. The comparisons, the cost breakdown, the FAQ and the guides work exactly as well as research whether or not you ever click a booking link.

Questions about any of this: email us. How the listings are checked in the first place is on the about page.
